His vast Boston network in business, politics and academia can locate a source of relevant expertise whether it be sales channels, marketing, liability, or investment.

Arne has a background in analyzing the development of new technologies. He has written on capricious market changes over years and decades, as successive stakeholders become involved, as rival products wax and wane, as companies grow and merge, and as opportunities come and go. He has compared and contrasted technologies in different countries and examined the role of national and local cultures. With this in mind, he has followed the Boston startup scene up close for a decade and a half. He has helped teach a Masters level course on commercialization of research at MIT, helping students think about the manifold challenges a startup faces.

He holds a Ph.D. in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge (UK), and an M.Sc. in Physics from Freiburg University (Germany). He has been a research fellow at both MIT and Harvard, and has more than 100 publications to his name. Arne speaks English, Danish and German as a native, and can get by in French and Mandarin.
