Palle Pedersen brings more than 20 years of high tech and entrepreneurial experience. He has developed a technical expertise in building innovative systems and processes that efficiently hold, manage, process, and deliver large-scale electronic data sets. In addition, Palle has a strong background in health information business, social networking, and has worked with Open Source Software for more than 15 years. Previously, Palle served as CTO at Black Duck Software where he led the creation of the flagship product protexIP and the patent pending technology used for the management of development with Open Source. He was instrumental in growing the company from an idea to more than 80 employees, $30+MM investment from industry leaders, and fast growing revenue from 500+ blue chip customers in 20+ countries. He has served as CIO of Wallaware, which developed server software for wireless carriers and CTO of Justa Technology, which built scalable software for network based applications. He helped launch the online health media company Healthology (acquired by iVillage/NBC Universal), where he served as CTO during the first two years. He was also founder and Managing Director of Spydre LLC, a venture catalyst, where he served as an executive, established the technology strategy, and led development projects for associated companies. Prior to Spydre, he was Vice President of Product Development and CTO at Integrated Computing Engines, Inc. (acquired by Media100), where he was responsible for the technology strategy and the creation of Integrated Computing Engines' high-performance parallel processing architecture. Earlier in his career, Palle created new parallel algorithms and designed parallel compilation techniques exploiting multi-level memory hierarchies at Thinking Machines Corporation (acquired by Oracle). While at Thinking Machines, Palle achieved multiple world record benchmarks. Palle started as an entrepreneur by creating a repair shop for radios, TVs, and computers at the age of 12. He holds a graduate degree in Electronics Engineering from Danish Technical University, where he graduated first in his class.
